
ABOUT US
Dingle Film Festival is driven by the desire and passion to present new
and archive film from around the world to an audience, both local &
international, in Dingle. A major role of the festival will be
presenting a workshop programme with leading experts from the film
industry.
We aim to engage with our audiences by involving them in screenings, workshops, discussions and seminars of the highest standards, allowing them to see, talk about, enjoy and celebrate film.
DFF have a vision of being the only film festival in Ireland being lead by its workshop programme. We will aim to bring the best film makers in their field to Dingle giving film makers and film lovers the opportunity to learn form the absolute best. Feature films and shorts will be screened in relation to the workshop programme being offered.
CEO/Artistic Director
Maurice Galway

Maurice Galway is the CEO/Artistic Director of the Dingle Film Festival
and founder of the Festival in 2007. The festival grew out of a love of
film and also over 10 years experience in the film festival and film
sector. Maurice founded the Kerry film festival in 1999 and has also
made a number of short experimental films which have exhibited in
Ireland, London, New York and Cannes. As AD of the Dingle Film Festival
he curates each festival programme along with attracting in major
industry guests which have included, Gabriel Bryne, Sarah Miles, Sir
Alan Parker, Jim Sheridan, Saoirse Ronan, Barbara Kopple, Garrett
Brown, Ned Dowd, Anthony Wall and Geoff Wonfor. As CEO of the buisness
Maurice is responsible in financing the company, building relatioships
with sponsors and grant bodies. Maurice is also responsible for
marketing the festival and running its day to day business.
Maurice is a board member of the Cinemobile, Ireland’s mobile cinema
and he is a company member of The Irish Film Institute.
As a curator he has worked closely in the past few years with the
Siamsa Gallery. Exhibitions curated by Maurice with Siamsa have
included: The In pursuit series, 1,2,3,&4, 7 years 7 days and Lila
Activities of God with each show having a focus on lens based artwork.
For DFF 2010 Maurice will bring Andrew Zuckerman’s show ‘Wisdom’ to the
Siamsa Gallery.
As a visual artist Maurice has exhibited in Ireland, UK and NY, his
visual work is largely lens based but he also is know for his line
drawings and installations.
Maurice resides in Kerry with his wife Catherine and their 4 children.
