Sarah Miles in Dingle



The wonderful Sarah Miles will be visiting Dingle as a special guest to The Dingle Film Festival. Sarah will be part of an evening being programmed in Ionad An Blaschaoid Mhoir. The evening will involve a panel discussion with Sarah Miles and locals who worked on David Lean's Ryan's Daughter back in 1968/69. Godfrey Graham will also be in attendance with a documentary he shot in 1969 entitled "On Location" for RTE. The festival are thrilled to have Sarah Miles attend the festival and the evening in The Blasket Centre will make for a very special event. There will be a reception and music.

Alan Parker to Open Dingle Film Festival

We are delighted to announce that Sir Alan Parker will open The First Dingle Film Festival on Thursday the 6th September in The Phoenix Cinema. Sir Alan Parker will be adjudicating our "Best Short Film" Award and the winner will receive a cash prise of 2,000 euro. Entries for our shorts competition were received from all over the world, including Brazil, USA, Australia, New Nealand, Israel, Greece, Italy, France, Portugal, Germany, Russia, UK and Ireland.
Colin Vaines, Executive Vice President, European Production And Development, The Weinstein Company will adjudicate our "Best First Short" and the winner will receive a cash prize of 750 euro.

The shorts programmes will be screened in The Phoenix Cinema and St. James' Church Dingle - full programme very soon.

A Premier for the family

Dingle Film Festival are pleased to announce that Director Bill Clark and producer Ros Hubbard will be in Dingle to introduce their film " The Christmas Miracle of Jonaton Toomey" which will have its Irish Premier screening in St. James' Church on Sunday 9th September. The films stars Tom Berenger and Joely Richardson. Trailer will be here to view very soon.

Weinstein Boss to Judge at Kerry International

Coiln Vaines, executive vice-president with the Weinstein Company, is set to join director Alan Parker on the judging panel for the Kerry International Film Festival which takes place from 6th -9th September in Dingle, Co Kerry. Colin's entire career has been dedicated to the film industry and he has acted as executive producer on many high profile films, most notably The Gangs of New York and Cold Mountain.
