Conor Horgan will introduce his feature which was shot on RED Set in a world upended by a complete breakdown of society, two couples hide out in a lakeside cabin hoping to survive the crisis. As resources run low and external threats increase, each of them faces a critical decision they never thought they'd have to make. Filmed on location in Co. Wicklow, Ireland

The Dingle Film Festival is honoured to welcome one of the greatest
artist working in film today - Tom Johnson. Tom has earned an Academy
Award for ‘Titanic’ and another Oscar and BAFTA for ‘Terminator 2:
Judgment Day’, Johnson has worked as a sound mixer and sound editor for
many top Hollywood blockbuster movies covering every genre of film
including action, romance, sci-fi, and animation. He has worked with
Tim Burton, Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford, George Lucas, James
Cameron, Thomas Anderson, Neil Jordan, John Boorman just to name a few.
Tom is an American living in Ireland, where he is based in Ardmore
Sound in Bray.
tom will be looking in detail at some films and their use of sound,
with the idea that we examine the power of sound in the film making/
story telling process.

Heiko Sparenberg, born in 1977, received his Diploma degree (MS)in Computer Science from the University of Hagen, Germany, in 2006. He started his professional career as an engineer at the Fraunhofer Institute IIS in Erlangen. Since 2006 he is project manager for post production software in the field of Digital Cinema especially for Fraunhofer easy DCP software products. His main activities are post production software development, data compression algorithms (JPEG2000) and stereoscopic applications.

A discussion will be held in Dingle on Saturday 20th March that will
involve Brendan Tuohy, Kevin Moriarty, Ardmore Studios, Paddy
Breathnach, Treasure Films, Marc Flanagan, writer and more.
The Irish Film Board has recently set up a group to look at developing a strategy for the future of the Irish Film and Audiovisual Industry. This group is drawn from the industry itself and the relevant Government Departments and agencies. It is hoped that the group will chart a strategy to double the size of the sector over a period of about five years with an increased emphasis on exports.
The panel will discuss the issue and, along with suggestions from the audience, it will make recommendations to the group charged with developing the strategy.
Final Cut Studio - RED workflow seminar with Chris Gray

Apple will be presenting Final Cut Studio - RED workflow seminar. This two-hour seminar will guide you through the basic workflow of using RED footage with Final Cut Studio. Footage will be taken into Final Cut Pro, passed through to Color and back to Final Cut Pro again as advantages of Pro Res and RED raw footage are discussed. The presenter will be on-hand with a Euphonix MC Color Control to show the advantages of working on Color with this control surface.
