Venue: The Phoenix Cinema
Date: Friday 15th March
Time: 1.30pm

Presented with our industry partner The Irish Film Board/Bord Scannán Na hÉireann.

“The Next Step Up” is a panel discussion aimed at short filmmakers and will immediately follow the screening of ART WILL SAVE THE WORLD. The panel discussion will be based on a filmmaker’s possible ‘Next Step’ in approaching a documentary feature film. We appreciate some film makers are not aiming to make a feature and shorts are a wonderful art form in their own right. This discussion will focus on moving from making short films to a feature documentary film. The panel is made up from a selection of the directors/producers in attendance at this year’s festival and who have a feature film selected to screen at the festival this year.

The event is also a great opportunity to get to know fellow filmmakers attending the festival.

Panel include:
Mark McLoughlin, director of BLOOD RISING our opening festival film
Niall McCann, director of ART WILL SAVE THE WORLD
Jill Beardsworth and Keith Walsh directors of APPLES OF THE GOLAN.
Chair: Sé Merry Doyle (Dreaming the Quiet Man) Loopline Film

The discussion is free and open to all those willing to make a documentary film.
