Riasc Creamery, Ballyferriter [52˚10′ 14.50″N , 10˚23′ 13.96″W]

In 2002 Andrew Duggan’s created this seminal installation in the disused creamery in Dingle. Jim Sheridan at the time commented on it as having the same great energy seen in the early days at the Project Arts Centre.

Now especially for the Dingle Film Festival Milk + Honey will be installed at the vacant Riasc Creamery, Ballyferriter.

Milk + Honey, features Maolra Mac Donnchadha and Siobhán Dempsey and was filmed by the late Tadhg Ó Coileain, edited by Eamonn Power with a sound piece by Con Horgan.

This insightful work precedes Andrew’s work with the National Folk Theatre, his Location One Fellowship in NYC and his ensuing work in poignant locations with Cindy Cummings, Paul Galvin and Olwen Foréré and Jazmin Chiodi.

Originally commissioned by the Kerry Film Festival under the helm of Maurice Galway and funded by Ealaín na Gaeltachta and the Arts Council of Ireland.

This installation is supported by Strand House, West Kerry Brewery and Ealain na Gaeltacht.

‘Making Milk + Honey’, a fly on the wall documentary short by Maurice Galway, capturing the events in 2002, can be seen in Bric’s Pub, Riasc [across from the installation] on the night.
