Synopsis of the Film
A love story with a twist concerning a man who supports his team more than he supports his girlfriend.

The cast features Seán T. Ó Meallaigh who has already worked on a number of Irish language productions including Na Cloigne, Rásaí na Gaillimhe and Corp & Anam. Spanish actress Susan Bas plays the part of Judy, and the cast also includes actor Sibéal Davitt and Andrew Lynch. The film was produced as part of ‘Físín’,a competition run by the Dingle International Film Festival to promote Irish language filmmaking. As part of the scheme, Teach Solais sponsored the lighting equipment. The camera and lenses were provided by Panavision Ireland.

I was the lucky recipient of the inaugural Físín award in 2011 with my film project “An Cluiche”. It was a fantastic experience. Pitching my film idea in front of a live audience was a terrifying, edifying and exhilarating experience. An outstanding aspect of Físín is that filmmakers are allowed full creative control over their films. This forces the filmmaker into the real world where one has to stand over their own creation. Another positive impact Físín had for me professionally, is that it broadened my professional network – so much so that I have worked with many of those who helped me make ‘An Cluiche’ on subsequent projects.Having the opportunity to screen my first film on the main screen at an international film festival, is a special occasion that I will always remember.
